‘It’s a really great story’: A boatyard in Northwich is about to reopen after a fire destroyed its contents

Northwich Boat Yard is one of the largest commercial boatyards in the UK, but it’s been destroyed in a fire.

The owner of the property, a family-owned company, lost control of the building in the early hours of Wednesday, and is now trying to reopen the boatyard.

The building in Northwood, Essex, was destroyed by fire in the late hours of March 12.

The fire gutted a total of 1,800 sq ft of the Northwich boatyard and is thought to have been started by a faulty electric generator.

It’s believed that a transformer failed in the building, which was built in 1927, as it was in a period when it was being built by the Government.

The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, but an investigation is ongoing.
