A man who owns the Guilfords Boatyard in New Bedford, New Hampshire, has been charged with rape after an investigation into allegations he sexually assaulted a female guest at the facility.
According to the New Bedford Herald, police responded to a report of a woman who said she was sexually assaulted on the property on December 20.
She told police she was with a friend at the property when she was followed by two men who were driving a red car, police said.
The victim told police that the men “put their hands down her pants, took off her clothes, raped her, and she was unable to fight back, police reported.
She said she “felt sick” while “she was unable and unable to resist the attack.”
The victim said she felt like she had “come home to a terrible nightmare,” the Herald reported.
In a statement on Wednesday, the New England Maritime Museum said that it had opened an investigation on Thursday after the victim’s allegations were reported.”
The investigation will determine if the allegations were credible and if they are consistent with what we have heard,” the museum said.
